Thanksgiving and the things I am thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This is a time that makes us all think about the things that we are thankful for in our lives and this is my list...

-The people in my life that keep me feeling strong, inspired, happy and loved. I am blessed to know people who are scattered across the country and even the world and no matter how far apart we all are, that could not change the love I have for every single one of them!

-My dogs. Most of you know how much I love those two guys and there's just something about their kind of love that you just can't get anywhere else.

-My education. I actually complain more about school than I should. I know it's hard now but I am so lucky to be able to have the opportunity to study something I care about so much at a school that I love so much.

-Football. OH MY GOSH do I love football. I love college football and the NFL. I think it also helps that my Oregon Ducks are 9-2 and heading for the Rose Bowl. While my Denver Broncos just happen to be playing and WINNING with my main man Timmy Tebow at the helm.

-Reality TV. Love it, wanna be on it...I'm shooting for either Survivor or Amazing Race.

-The million GOP debates that have taken place so far. Not only because I am a Republican and love hearing what they have to say, but also it usually turns out to be the most entertaining program on television that night. Between the laughing, bickering, and forgetting, it just can't get any better.

-I'm also extremely thankful for beer. I like to consider myself a beer expert. It's just so damn good.

-Finally, I am extremely thankful for our men and women in uniform. I have a couple family members and a few friends who are currently serving our country and they are truly heroes.

Just take a look for yourself...

Happy Halloween!

"Halloween is teaching our kids to be liberals because we're teaching kids to knock on other people's doors and ask for a handout."-Sean Hannity. I somehow stumbled upon this quote this morning and it made me laugh, probably because I believe it partly to be true and partly because I never thought someone could turn Halloween into something political.
I've never been a huge Halloween fan, even when I was little. I think my fear of this day comes from when we'd walk over to my Grandma's house to kick off our Trick or Treat festivities and every year she'd find a new, clever way to scare the heck out of us. However, I purchased two huge bags of candy for the neighborhood kids, who I might add have yet to come by, so it looks as though I might be stuck with 2 large bags of Halloween candy that I need to get rid of before I decide to eat it all!
This Halloween was exciting for me for another reason, I decided I was going to join in on the Crossfit craze! I've heard only amazing reviews from friends who have taken it and decided I was going to give it a go. I went in for an introductory session and although my free intro workout session only lasted 5:42 (which consisted of 500m rowing, 40 squats, 30 sit-ups, 20 pushups and 10 assisted pull-ups) I absolutely fell in love! I signed up immediately and am going in for my first class tomorrow morning. I love the intensity of the exercises combined with the coaching and competitiveness that comes along with the 1 hour session. It is awesome to see people of every fitness level getting together, competing, encouraging and working out together. I'm actually so excited about getting started tomorrow I might have trouble sleeping tonight!
I hope everyone has/had a safe, spooky and fun Halloween(if you're into that kinda thing!) :)

Here goes nothing...

As many of you know or are going to find out fairly soon, this is my first attempt at blogging. I am not an overly creative person or even a decent writer. However, I want to be able to share my journey and life experiences with those who are willing to hear them. I also want to share my opinion on things such as politics, humor, religion, sports, fitness, friendships and family. Anyone that has known me for a significant amount of time knows how much I have grown and changed as a person over the last 4 years of my life. As I continue(hopefully) growing and changing, I want to be able to share these experiences with you all. But let us not get too carried away with the growing part because I still will continue with my extremely immature, sarcastic sense of humor.

Now let us all go watch the Ducks destroy the Washington State Cougars! Go Ducks!
